judging critiques

.Hi All

I wonder if there is anyone who could help with copies of judging critiques from the dog papers from previous shows. I’ve only just begun to show my 2 schipps and didn’t realise that I would need to get the dog papers in order to see what the judges have written and wondered if anyone kept back copies of the papers and could copy me the critiques as I would love to see what teh judges have said about my dogs.

Judge’s Report WKC 2010

.Schipperkes – Judge Michael Quinney

Not my entry; I was asked to judge in place of Mr F Howard-Williams. I expected to see some lively, bright, active exhibits with amenable intelligent temperaments, but sadly this was not always the case, with a few seemingly nervous & stressed. Also, little use of ears.

MPD (1) 1 Mance’s Roshaana Janus, black, pleasing size & type, cobby body, sound brisk mover, excellent coat & condition. BP. PD (2,1a) 1 Harts’ Byquy Polar Express, cream, bigger all round, close in front. JD (2w/h). LD (2) 1 Fellows’ Avidore History Maker at Blackshuck, black, enough type, good coat. Handler could try harder; 2 Bayliss’ Karmajen Star Trooper, fawn, enough type. Coat lacking condition. OD (4,2) 1 Mance’s Ch Schipdale Orlando, quality black, all the breed essentials, pleasing size & type, cobby body, excellent coat & condition, sound brisk movement. CC & BOB; 2 Reed’s Byquy Polar Prince, pleasing type & size, good coat, sound mover. RCC.

MPB (2,1) 1 Reed’s Byquy Jac In The Box, pleasing size & type, good coat & colour, very naughty. PB (1) 1 Thornes’ Schiopdale Lily Midoff, enough type, handled well on the table. JB (3,1) 1 Shillingford’s Pamrays Whisper In The Dark, typy & sound, well carried tail, good body, brisk movement; 2 Jones’ Pamrays Black Magic, close up, similar comments. Not the tail carriage of 1. LB (1) 1 Forknall’s Avidore Hot Gossip, black, pleasing size & type, eye could be darker. A little close in front. Tail well carried. OB (5,2) 1 Harts’ Ch Carozza Molly Malone with Ludwyn, quality black, pleasing size & type, foxy head & expression, lovely dark eyes, firm front, cobby body, firm topline, lovely coat in fine condition. CC; 2 West’s Am Ch Shalako The Last Rose at Bahram, lots of lovely type, much to admire, excellent front, cobby body. Not the coat of 1. RCC; 3 Reed’s Byquy Dawn Chorus.

.Schipperkes - JUDGE DAVID GUY

PD (2) 1 Muggleton’s Aradet Wizard Of Oz amongst Mywulf, cream dog, well balanced, strong enough in head, good bone, good feet. Tended to move a little wide coming towards but OK going away. Well sprung ribs, good topline & tailset. Doesn’t need to carry any more body; 2 Robjohns’ Qwontox Quincy, black, very much a baby compared to 1. Needs time to settle as was a little unsure of himself on the table. Good coat texture, very dark eye, true on the move when settled. JD (2) 1 Hart’s Byquy Polar Express, 12 months cream, expressive head, very dark eye & well placed ears, true front, good bone & rib, carried a good body. Coat not his fortune being a little woolly in texture & standing off too much for me without a demarcation between main & topcoat. True on the move; 2 Q Quincy. PGD (1) 1 Massey’s Scipsar Sunny Jim at Ristine, cream dog, adequate bone for size. Feet could have been tighter. Balanced head, true front, rib OK but a little long in loin, adequate rear angulation, OK coming towards but a little close going away. LD (4,1) 1 Peck’s Byquy Couscous, cream, litter brother to 1 of JD & similar in type, good head with well placed ears giving an alert expression, good neck & shoulder. Could be a little better in pastern. Good rib & body. Could be a tad shorter to be critical. Coat a little heavy for me but the texture was OK. Well angulated rear, moved well coming & going & gave a good picture in profile. RCC; 2 Donaldson’s Carozza To Hot Too Handle, black dog, more the size I prefer but not did match the movement of 1, good coat of harsh texture, alert expression, carried a good body, good outline; 3 Fellows’ Avidore History Maker at Blackshuck. OD (3,2) 1 Morley’s Am Ch Chatelet Aradet Rugby, black boy who was the star for me, a very typical Schipperke in all respects, lovely well balanced head, good bone, super feet, good over the neck & shoulder, correct spring of rib & short cobby body with a well rounded rump, good coat that was in super condition, he was on top of his form, true movement coming & going, profile movement was super, outstanding. CC, BOB & BIS.

PB (2,1) 1 Donaldson’s Carozza Athena, black bitch who left her coat at home but what she had was of a good texture, typical head & eye, good front, adequate bone for her size, enough rib but needs to carry more body to advantage which will come with age. Good hindquarters, moved well coming & going, gave a good picture in profile. BP. PGB (2,1) 1 Robjohns’ Qwontox Quintessential, judged this black bitch as a puppy & she has matured well, alert expression but a darker eye would enhance it, true front & well sprung ribs. Could be a shade shorter for me to give a more cobby appearance. Good coat of the correct texture, good rear angulation, moved well. LB (2,1) 1 Robjohns’ Qwontox Celtic Quest, 6 years black bitch who was in super condition, her head is a touch blunt for me but never the less she has a keen alert expression, adequate neck onto well placed shoulders, super coat of the correct texture, well sprung ribs, good body but could be a touch shorter to advantage. True on the move, gave a good picture. RCC. OB (7,6) 1 Hart’s Ch Carozza Molly Malone with Ludwyn, 5 years black out of the top drawer, I awarded her the RCC the last time I judged, she has matured well, good head & eye, well set & used ears, good bone & feet, well constructed front, today she was in super coat unlike the last time I judged her when she had left it at home. Good body with well sprung ribs, good rear angulation & a well rounded rump. She moved well both coming & going & both her & the dog gave good silhouettes in profile. CC.

CONGRATULATIONS to Trish and also Mary Deats who I believe exported his mother to the Chatelet kennels in the USA.
