.Schipperkes

Thanks to the committee of Southern Counties & to exhibitors for making this a very enjoyable day. Some of the exhibits were obviously feeling the effects of the heat & on another day some of the placings would have been different. However, I was very pleased with my winners who kept showing to the end.

PD (2) 1 Bugg’s Komargo Dandy Warhol, 10 months cream, lovely head, good eye shape & excellent pigment, short in body, good tailset & carriage. Would like a little more leg to complete picture. Unsettled on move, but when moving was OK. BP; 2 Allington’s Rexford Coyote Kid, 10 months, but black. Smaller made than 1. Nice body shape, typical expression. Unhappy on table. Sharp brisk movement. JD (2) 1 Powell’s Bahram Hiawatha at Brookwell, black, top size, good coat, good tailset, excellent showman, made best of himself, steady mover, good head & expression, well set ears of correct shape & size; 2 Allington’s Rexford Voodoo Warrior, 10 months black whose size I liked. Throwing coat right now. Intensely lively & alert, moved well, lovely picture standing. Not confident being handled on table. PGD (0). LD (4) 1 Bayliss’ Karmajen Star Trooper, cream, took my eye immediately, excellent, masculine head, correct eye & ear shape, good pigment, short in body with correct leg length for balance, super outline, moved out steadily & didn’t stop showing. CC, his first; 2 Fellows’ Avidore History Maker at Blackshuck, tailed black, so much to like, as with 1 lovely body shape & moved out well, good head with nice eye shape. Ears could be little neater. Did consider for RCC, but looked a little immature. Sure his time will come; 3 Wilson’s Carozza Cream Casanova. OD (3) 1 Reed’s Byquy Polar Prince, cream with tail, beautiful head, correct eye & ear shape, excellent pigment. Would just like tad more leg length to finish picture. Moved out well with brisk stride & never lost alert expression. RCC; 2 Aylward & Burdett’s Ch Carozza Man On A Mission, cream & father to 1. Larger cast than 1 & little longer in back. Lovely head & expression, moved out well; 3 Powell’s Ch Monterrez I’ll Be Back at Brookwell. V (3,1) 1 Ticklebank’s Ch Nocte Boris Karloff, 9½ years, black male, long been a favourite of mine, built on very classic lines, good head & expression, moved out well; 2 Powell’s Ch Int Ir Ch Franhowil Frankie Boy, 12 years, black male, smaller built than 1 & not as positive on move. Typical head & expression, lovely outline in profile.

JUDGE’S CRITIQUE | BIRMINGHAM NAT CH SHOW 2010

.The dogs were generally well presented & of good temperament, mouths were correct & most teeth were even & clean. It was good to see some young stock out in the ring. Movement was not always a strong point with some exhibits although the venue does not always help.

PD (3,1a) 1 Allington’s Rexford Coyote Kid, lively & alert with compact body & good bone, well coated with tightly curled tail over the body, foxy expression with dark eye which I would prefer just a little smaller. Needs a touch more length of leg. Moved out well when settled; 2 Dunnet’s Roshven Silly Wizard, slightly more rangier dog who needs time to body up, head & expression pleasing. Seemed a little unsure of himself in this environment & didn’t really settle on the move. JD (2) 1 Allington’s Rexford’s Voodoo Warrior, lively & enthusiastic, 9 months with good bone, nicely balanced with good head, appealing expression & neat well set ears. Carried his tail well & moved soundly. BP; 2 Aylward & Burdett’s Carozza Notail To Tell, lacking a little in body at this stage so didn’t look as compact as 1, pleasing head with dark expressive eyes, used his ears to good effect. Not quite as consistent on the move as 1. PGD (3) 1 Holland’s Schojan Raindance, attractive outline, good body shape & bone, well proportioned head, dark oval eyes, lovely well placed ears & a lively expression, correct coat texture with defined demarcations, moved soundly when he concentrated on the job in hand; 2 Qwontox Quirinus, lovely well balanced dog of good body & bone, well constructed, pleasing masculine head with lively & alert expression, rear movement. A little unsettled; 3 Mywulf Majestic Flame at Ristine. LD (4,1) 1 Wilson’s Carozza Cream Casanova, delightful cream, so full of himself, showing good overall balance & lovely outline with tail curled tightly over body, well put together with lovely head, dark eye, good pigmentation & expression, moved freely & with drive. RCC; 2 Aradet Kloudburst, compact & balanced with lovely head & expression, correct shaped dark eye with well set alert ears giving typical foxy expression, correct coat texture. Moved out well but didn’t have quite the rear angulation as 1; 3 Rollinson & Boles’ Kassalmak Dakschester for Chadbower. OD (5) 1 Aylward & Burdett’s Ch Carozza Man On A Mission, considered this dog for the RCC last time I judged, today he made it to the top spot. Stylish, smart pale cream of quality, good construction, carrying the right amount of substance, well balanced outline, head of correct proportions, good pigmentation & lovely dark eyes, ears used well making for good expression, coat of correct texture showing demarcations, movement positive & assured, moving true. CC & BOB; 2 Mance’s Ch Schipdale Orlando, stylish well constructed dog who was just carrying a little too much weight around the shoulders. Lovely masculine head, dark expressive eyes, well placed ears giving foxy expression, coat texture harsh, good demarcations, moved out purposefully & with drive; 3 Holland’s Schojan Dance Master.

PB (2) 1 Allington’s Rexford Bootylicious smart 9 months black, nicely proportioned with good bone, very lively & alert, attractive feminine head with dark eye, used her ears well to give pleasing expression, good dense coat of correct texture, quite a handful at times but when she put her mind to it showed sound movement; 2 Reed’s Byquy Applemint, lovely slightly smaller bitch, well balanced, pleasing head & expression but needs to use ears to full effect, possibly a little overcome by surroundings. Found it difficult at times to assess movement but would hope when more experienced in the big ring will do well. JB (1) 1 Tricklebank’s Nocte Elvira, pleasing appearance, good outline & attractive body shape, lovely head & expression, good earset but needs to use them, moved out briskly with drive. PGB (2,1) 1 Wilson’s Trijem Upper Class, lovely balanced outline with good body shape & lovely tail carriage, well constructed, feminine head, keen foxy expression, dark oval eye, used her ears well, coat of good texture & demarcation, is just so full of enthusiasm, moved with great drive but just needs to settle a little more on the move. LB (5,2) 1 Wearing’s Aradet Party Politics, lovely, well presented, good body & bone of sound construction, nicely balanced head with pleasing alert expression, close black coat of correct texture, moved really well with reach & drive; 2 Reed’s Byquy Dawn Chorus, appealing, well balanced with correct amount of bone & presenting a good outline, lovely head, delightful expression, coat texture good, moved out soundly, just needs to keep tail up to keep outline whilst on the move; 3 Boles’ Kassalmak Daksbab. OB (9,2) 1 Morley & Reeves’ Aradet Rumour Has It over Trijem, CC, a very smart black of lovely proportions & excellent balance, very well constructed, beautiful feminine head with typical Schipperke expression, used her ears well, positive & assured on the move. CC; 2 West’s Am Ch Shalako’s Last Rose at Bahram, black, a shade longer than 1, stunning silhouette & abundant coat with jacket, well demarcated, well proportioned head with good expression, dark eye & alert ears, moved out well but today rear movement not as good as 1. RCC; 3 Haines & Navarrete’s Ebony Sands’ Uptown Girl.
